Colleyville resident, Jack Olsen, will be honored as a Colleyville Hometown Hero at a ceremony at 11 a.m. on Dec. 6 at Heroes Park in the Village at Colleyville. The event is open to the public.



Olsen is known throughout his neighborhood for his service to others and his care and attention to all those he meets. Around town, he is hailed for his commitment to computer literacy among seniors and for his efforts in helping to create the computer curriculum offered at the Colleyville Senior Center.



He is an alumnus of the Colleyville Citizens Police Academy and has served as a member of the Colleyville Citizens on Patrol.



Committed to his community, Olsen has volunteered on the Colleyville Senior Center Advisory Committee and the Sidewalk & Trails Committee.



Jack Olsen was nominated for the Hometown Hero honor by Ms. Sue Drautz. His nomination was met with unanimous approval by the Hometown Hero selection panel, consisting of members of the Colleyville Historical Preservation Committee.
