John Payton took the race against Denise Hamilton, receiving 66.02 percent of the votes of the Nov. 4 election with 67 of 67 vote centers reporting in Collin County.
Payton received 52,508 votes to Hamilton's 27,023 votes in the election.

According to unofficial early voting results, incumbent Justice of the Peace John Payton is leading the race for the Precinct 3-2 seat with 66.85 percent of the vote, or 33,015 votes. Challenger Denise Hamilton has 33.15 percent of the vote, or 16,375 votes.
Payton was first elected as Justice of the Peace more than 20 years ago at age 18, and is recognized by the Guinness World Records as the world's youngest judge. He is known for his tough but compassionate enforcement of truancy.
Democrat Denise Hamilton campaigned to be the first woman to be elected as a Justice of the Peace in Collin County. A resident of Plano, she graduated from Texas Women's University and runs a real estate business with her husband throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Collin County Precinct 3-2 addresses the city of Plano.
