The Grapevine City Council unanimously approved a conditional use permit Aug. 19 that amends the site plan of the Grapevine Craft Brewery to allow for the possession, storage, wholesale sales and on-premise manufacturing of beer only.

The new site plan specifically allows an expansion, outside seating and the on-premise consumption of beer.

The brewery not only got the approval from the council, but also had full support from the city's planning and zoning commission.

"I would just like to point out that I think that this is a fantastic thing for Grapevine, and I would probably support this no matter where this was going in," Planning and Zoning board member Jimmy Fechter said. "I've seen a lot of these craft breweries go in industrial locations, downtown locations and they work just about anywhere. More than that, it will help promote our town [because] its got the word Grapevine on it."

The development will include 48 seats outside, 24 seats inside and a tasting room on-site.

The 10,284-square-foot-brewery, located at 906 and 924 Jean Street, is expected to break ground in September.
