The unpaved section of Panther Creek Parkway between Honey Grove Drive and Coit Road will be closed for about eight months beginning May 19, according to the city's communications department.

The road is being closed so utilities can be installed and a new paved road can be built in its place.

Alternate routes for drivers who use the dirt road to access Coit Road and/or Maus Middle School include driving south on Hillcrest Road and east on Eldorado Parkway.

City officials are encouraging drivers to choose an alternate road in advance.
