Southlake City Council gave the go-ahead to William Lafavers to expand the family-owned Feedstore BBQ restaurant after a second reading at its meeting April 15.

The proposed plan includes an expansion to the existing building and parking lot as well as including a covered patio dining area. During the meeting, Lafavers addressed issues from the first reading on April 1 such as intentions for music on the patio, masonry options and concerns of the restaurant's proximity from White Chapel Boulevard.

Lafavers addressed the controversial music issue and agreed to limit noise on the outside porch to only the existing sound system, rather than any live or amplified music.

The amended site plan included an expansion of 1,007 square feet, a patio covering approximately 680 square feet and adding 22 parking spaces. The plan also includes the applicant adding brick masonry to the south elevation, and boulders on the property near the existing sign that would provide a barrier between pedestrians and traffic on White Chapel Boulevard to ensure safety.

The Council approved the item in a 5–2 decision.
