I have always thought February to be a slow month, but that is not the case at Community Impact Newspaper. With two new reporters, two guides and a new feature, we have been busy preparing this issue.
Reporter Jason Cook comes to us from The Cape Cod Times where he served as the lead night reporter. Cape Cod is also his hometown. His front page story looks at the low water level at Lake Grapevine and what this can mean to the city and to lake businesses. At his suggestion, we have also added a beverage profile to our dining feature on Page 14. We will not only be profiling restaurants, but also places to sit back and enjoy your favorite beverage.
Reporter Renee Hansen hails from Flower Mound and recently graduated summa cum laude in journalism from the University of North Texas in Denton. Renee previously reported for a Denton magazine and built her portfolio with multiple internships with Dallas media companies. Her front page story gives a fresh perspective to new residential developments in Southlake and what that means to the city's future.
You will find the Election Guide on pages 10-11 useful when making your voting decisions in the primary election. Our Early Education Guide on pages 16-17 will help parents of young children when searching for early childhood day care and education.
Our new reporters will continue to delve into the news and issues that affect you and your communities. Let them hear from you with any stories you think we need to tell.
