Though the Grapevine Craft Brewery hasn't materialized because of construction financing issues, the beer is available either in kegs or on tap at some 17 locations in Grapevine, Colleyville and Southlake, plus more locations in other area cities.
Brewery founder and CEO Gary Humble said that the company owns the property at 924 Jean St. and still plans to build the brewery, but two different financing possibilities have fallen through.
Meanwhile, the brewing equipment arrived, so the tenacious beermeisters rented a 7,000-square-foot building in Farmer's Branch and started brewing. Don't expect to find beer for sale in Farmer's Branch, though—it's a dry city.
The company's Lakefire dry pale ale went on sale Nov. 27, and the Monarch wheaten ale was available starting in late December.
Humble said the brewery's products are available at 31 Metroplex locations.
