Snowflakes and Crepes offers some goodies that have not been common in Southlake before: both sweet and savory crepes and a Taiwanese ice confection called a snowflake.

The savory crepes, prepared on a huge, flat griddle, come in a wide range of options filled with beef, ham, bacon, cheese and other ingredients. The sweet version comes in all kinds of incarnations involving Nutella, whipped cream and strawberries, among other things.

The snowflakes are essentially shaved ice, but ice that is shaved into layers so it makes a lacy pile on the plate. Snowflakes come in several flavors and are accompanied by fruit.

The small, bright spot is a little hard to find—3105 E. Southlake Blvd., but not really on the main drag. Look for it tucked away behind Supreme Golf. 817-488-8988.
