More than 62 percent of voters in the Republican primary voted to send U.S. Rep. Kenny Marchant, R-District 24, to the November general election.

Of the 19,852 ballots cast, Marchant earned 12,386 — 62.39 percent of the vote over opponent Grant Stinchfield, who received 7,466 votes to finish with 37.61 percent of the vote, according to unofficial tallies.

Marchant will face unopposed Democratic candidate Tim Rusk in the November election.
