St. Michael the Archangel began an expansion project on a multipurpose pastoral center in November 2024. The project is slated for completion in December, Business Manager Joseph Walker Jr. said.

The building, which will house faith formation classes and parish group meetings, will feature six individual meeting rooms, one large meeting room, two offices and a small reception room.

“We are currently averaging about 4,000 persons for weekend services and this new building will allow us to serve them more fully,” Walker said in an email.

How we got here

The church was established in 1870 and was originally located at the intersection of US 380 and Central Expressway in McKinney, Walker said. In 1915, the church relocated to downtown McKinney. In 1960, the church moved once again to the current location and a new church facility was built in 2007.
