Educational resource platform Language Learning Market announced plans June 8 to add 17 new executive jobs to its headquarters in McKinney over the next three years. This brings its total number of employees to 20 with an average salary of $100,000.

Language Learning Market aims to connect parents and educators searching for learning resources in multiple languages. The platform connects buyers and sellers in 7,000 languages and dialects to help parents find educational content for their children, per a news release from the McKinney Economic Development Corp.

“This innovation center for the global education industry gives entrepreneurs and companies the opportunity to monetize their products while being the world’s only one-stop-shop for parents to find high-quality language learning content,” said Allison Monroe, founder & CEO of Language Learning Market, in the news release. “We think of ourselves like the Etsy for education in all languages.”

The expansion of Language Learning Market was assisted by a grant from the MEDC’s Innovation Fund.

“We are excited to see Language Learning Market expand at a time where the education industry has undergone a rapid transformation brought on by the pandemic,” said Danny Chavez, senior vice president at MEDC, in the news release. ”It’s incredible to support and work with a company, founded here in McKinney, that has created a platform that will be utilized globally.”
