Burnside Air Conditioning, Heating and Indoor Air Quality is seeking to move to a new property across the street from its current space. At the April 20 McKinney City Council meeting, council agreed to change the zoning on the property located on an acre in the southeast corner of US 380 and College Street from planned development, which would allow for multifamily housing, to neighborhood commercial. This allows Burnside Air, a local family-owned business, to stay in McKinney, according to meeting documents.

Currently, the company is operating out of a nearly four-decade-old facility at 209 W. University Drive. The company will be able to expand its operations in the new facility, documents stated. The business provides air conditioning and heater repair and maintenance, filter replacements, dehumidifiers, installations and replacements, and duct sealing.
