Starting in February, Dr. Jaya Kumar will begin serving as the new chief medical officer for
Medical City McKinney, located at 4500 Medical Center Drive.
Kumar is board-certified in nephrology and internal medicine. She also served at Medical City Denton since 2013 as the medical director for a 12-physician hospital group, according to a news release from the hospital.
“Dr. Kumar is a highly respected physician that is focused on quality and exemplary patient care,” CEO of Medical City McKinney Ernest C. Lynch III said in the news release. “She is a physician that other doctors can look to for quality outcomes and clinical expertise. We are excited to have her [as] part of our administrative team.”
As chief medical officer Kumar will advise and lead the hospital’s medical experts.
“I am excited to join Medical City McKinney in a role that is dedicated to supporting our clinic staff and their commitment to excellence,” Kumar said in the release.
The position of chief medical officer was previously held by Dr. Steven Kaster, who is now working at a hospital in Overland Park, Kansas, according to the release.
