Collin County voters will have a chance to hear from candidates running for the Texas House District 61 seat before the primary election in March.

Raise Your Hand Texas is hosting a public education candidate forum Jan. 31 at the McKinney ISD Community Event Center, located at 4201 S. Hardin Blvd. The organization invited all race candidates to participate. Candidates include:

  • Tony Adams
Republican
  • Chuck Branch
  • Frederick Frazier (incumbent)
  • Keresa Richardson


The District 61 seat represents parts of Celina, Frisco and McKinney, according to the Texas House of Representatives' website.


The event opens at 6 p.m. with the moderated forum scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.

Dates to know

Texas will hold Republican and Democratic primaries March 5 to determine the ballot in November. Collin County voters can visit www.collincountytx.gov/elections to see a full list of polling locations open during early voting and on election day.
  • Feb. 5: Last day to register to vote
  • Feb. 20: First day of early voting
  • Feb. 23: Last day to apply for a ballot by mail
  • March 1: Last day of early voting
  • March 5: Election day
  • March 5: Last day to receive ballot by mail (or March 6 if carrier envelope is postmarked by 7 p.m. at the location of the election on election day)
