Here's where you can vote for the Jan. 15 special election in McKinney

McKinney will have five polling locations for the Jan. 15 special election. (Community Impact Newspaper staff)

The city of McKinney’s special election will take place Jan. 15.

Three candidates are running for Place 2, an at-large City Council seat. The position became open when Council Member Frederick Frazier announced his candidacy for a state House Representatives seat Oct. 15.


John R. Booher, Patrick J. Cloutier and Vicente Torres are running for Frazier’s seat. Candidate Q&A's can be found here. Frazier will continue to serve until a replacement is determined.

Five polling locations will be open Jan. 15:

  • Collin County Election Office

  • John & Judy Gay Library

  • McKinney Fire Station No. 5

  • McKinney Fire Station No. 9

  • Old Settlers Recreation Center
