McKinney ISD will be closed Jan. 10, according to a district news alert.

Schools will be closed to ensure the safety of students, staff and MISD families, the message stated. The closure will be made up on April 14.

Current situation

A winter storm warning is in effect for Collin and Denton counties. Mixed winter precipitation is expected to increase Thursday afternoon and evening across North Texas. Travel is expected to be impacted Thursday evening into Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
