Malvern Elementary School will undergo interior renovations as part of McKinney ISD’s preschool program expansion.

The district’s board of trustees approved the adjustments for $253,175 during an April 22 meeting. This comes after the board approved the addition of age-appropriate playground equipment to the school March 25.

The details

Four new restrooms and a classroom will be added to the west wing of the elementary school, per the agenda.

As part of the requirements of the program set by the State of Texas Department of Health and Human Services, a facility must have one restroom per 17 students. Four restrooms would allow for a maximum of 68 children. The program has a proposed capacity of 66 children, according to the agenda.
