McKinney ISD to shift attendance zones in 2024-25 to address future growth

Fast growth in housing developments within McKinney ISD has caused officials to adjust attendance zones for the 2024-25 school year. The affected zones include moving students from Frazier Elementary School, Johnson Middle School and McKinney Boyd High School. MISD is allowing students who live in the identified rezoning area to have a grandfather option to stay at their current campus.

McKinney ISD officials amend vaping discipline policy

McKinney ISD officials updated the district’s policy for vape device consequences after its new state-mandated policy placed hardships on campus administrators, district officials said. MISD can choose to not follow the new Texas Education Agency policy as it is considered a District of Innovation.

The new app will streamline communication alerts across the district as it will be able to send real-time updates for emergencies or school closures. The app is set to launch in the 2024-25 school year.
