The McKinney ISD board of trustees approved the 2019-20 district calendar at a meeting Nov. 27. Highlights of the calendar include:

• The first day of school will be held Thursday, Aug. 15.
• Students will have a weeklong break Nov. 25-29 for Thanksgiving.
• Winter break will run Dec. 23-Jan. 3.
• During spring break MISD students and staff will be off March 9-13.
• The last day of school will be held Wednesday, May 27.

The 2018-19 school year began Aug. 20 and will end May 30.
