The McKinney ISD board of trustees approved the 2018-19 school calendar during a Feb. 27 meeting.

The McKinney ISD board of trustees approved the 2018-19 school calendar during a Feb. 27 meeting.

At its Tuesday evening meeting, the McKinney ISD board of trustees approved the 2018-19 district calendar. Highlights of the calendar include:

First day of school will be held on Monday, Aug. 20
Students will have a weeklong break Nov. 19-23
Winter break will run from Dec. 24-Jan. 7 with the new semester beginning Tuesday, Jan. 8
Spring break is scheduled for March 11-15
Last day of school will be held on Thursday, May 30
