This weekend the city of McKinney is kicking off this Christmas season with the 38th annual Home for the Holidays celebration in downtown McKinney, Nov. 23-25.
Friday night events include a
Christmas Tree lighting ceremony at 6:15 p.m. on the McKinney Preforming Arts Center lawn, located at 111 N. Tennessee St., McKinney, on the side facing Kentucky Street, and following the ceremony the band Asleep at the Wheel will perform live.
The rest of the weekend will feature ice skating, live music, food and drinks, a petting zoo, a ferris wheel and carousel rides, shopping and Santa visits.

Admission is free and open to the public.
Parking
Drivers may park in any of the 12 public parking lots near The Square, or park off-site at the First McKinney Baptist Church, located at 1615 W. Louisiana St., where they can receive complimentary shuttle rides to and from the event. The shuttle will leave every 15 minutes on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.-10 p.m.
