LifePath Systems broke ground on its new facility in north McKinney on June 27, according to a news release.

Construction on the 110,000-square-foot campus at the southeast corner of Bloomdale Road and Community Avenue is expected to begin later this year. The organization’s leaders anticipate the new McKinney campus will be complete by fall 2024, according to the release.

LifePath Systems is a nonprofit organization aiding the intellectually disabled, those who are mentally ill and children who are developmentally delayed in Collin County. The organization also serves as the county’s designated behavioral health and intellectual and developmental disabilities authority, according to its website.

The facility will offer public meeting rooms as well as offices for administration, as well as an expanded crisis center and intensive behavioral health services, according to the release. The facility will also have space available for expanding programs in the future.

“We are thrilled to be embarking on this new endeavor in support of all Collin County residents,” LifePath Systems CEO Tammy Mahan said in the release. “I look forward to sharing more updates as the project progresses.”

The project was facilitated by a low-cost land lease from the Collin County Commissioner’s Court, according to the release. The new facility is meant to support the organization’s “significant growth,” Mahan said at a December 2021 Collin County Commissioners Court meeting.

The June 27 groundbreaking ceremony for the new facility included comments from Collin County Judge Chris Hill, Mahan and LifePath Systems Board Chair Doug Kowalski, according to the release.
