Tupps Brewery’s new East McKinney location is now open.

An event held March 9-10 marked the grand opening of the location and included live music, food trucks and more.

The business relocated from its former location at 721 Anderson St. to the new facility located adjacent to The McKinney Flour Mill and McKinney’s new city hall, which is under construction.

Officials with Tupps Brewery broke ground on the new location in early 2022. The multimillion-dollar project is the product of a partnership between Tupps Brewery and the city of McKinney to create a destination on the city's east side.


The new location features a larger taproom than the previous location, as well as an outdoor bar and entertainment areas, including an outdoor stage. The site also has a larger production facility than the previous location, increasing the business’s production capabilities.

The new location also features a kitchen, with menu items such as burgers and chicken wings. The business will also soon host brewery tours, according to its website.

City officials, including representatives of the McKinney Community Development Corp. spoke at a ribbon-cutting ceremony held March 9.


Angela Richardson-Woods, McKinney Community Development Corp. board chair, said the facility is a “quality-of-life” project for East McKinney.

“We are bringing an entertainment destination to this part of McKinney that will serve as a catalyst for other businesses to grow,” she said.

McKinney Mayor George Fuller also described the new facility as a catalyst project, and said the owner of Tupps Brewery, Keith Lewis, as well as the investors for the project are “McKinney-centric” and engaged community members.

“I couldn't be happier that it's Tupps Brewery that is the anchor on the east side,” Fuller said.


Lewis recognized support from the city as well as the investment team and Tupps Brewery staff members in his remarks during the event.

“[The project] was very ambitious; it was very audacious, but through a little over two years of swinging at the plate, I think we've hit a home run,” Lewis said.

Looking ahead

Businesses participating in the Build Your Own Business program at Tupps Brewery are expected to open their businesses in repurposed silos on the site in the coming months, Tupps Brewery representative Katie Baker said in an email.

  • Chosen for Change Baking
  • Peridot Plant Co.
Tupps Brewery’s new location will also feature a new cafe and coffee roastery concept from McKinney-based Lelo’s Coffee Co. as well as the East McKinney Learning Garden, a community learning garden.
