Dedicated right turn lanes are coming to a major Flower Mound intersection after the town signed off on a construction contract this week.
Flower Mound Town Council on Aug. 17 approved the contract for the intersection work at Long Prairie Road and Waketon Road, which is expected to cost just over $1 million.
In addition to the new right-turn lanes being installed at the FM2499 intersection, crews will make improvements to its traffic signals and pedestrian features.
Most of the funding for the project comes from the town’s tax increment reinvestment zone, municipal staff told council members.
