The meeting will be held March 27 from 6-9 p.m. at Town Hall, 2121 Cross Timbers Road, Flower Mound.

During the town manager's report at the Flower Mound Town Council's Feb. 19 meeting, Town Manager Jimmy Stathatos asked Town Council for direction on how to proceed with Morriss Road. Council decided to hold a joint meeting with the transportation committee in order to provide more clarification and make its goals known to the committee.

Topics will include changing Morriss Road's designation and possible improvements to the road that are intended to improve safety and mobility issues.

Council members agreed that residents will have an opportunity to speak, but public comments may be limited.

The decision to hold a joint meeting comes after the transportation commission recommended at its Feb. 13 meeting to leave Morriss' road designation as major arterial while more research can be done on what to do with the road. If left designated as a major arterial road, Morriss could be subjected to becoming a six-lane road. The council voted on Feb. 5 to not expand the road to six lanes.

No date has been selected for the meeting, but council has suggested it be held sooner than later. By law the meeting must be announced 72 hours prior.

Council Member Kevin Bryant said council will make a public announcement and use multiple outlets to communicate when the meeting will be held.
