Starship Bagel, a handmade New York-style bagel, schmear and coffee shop, is open at 1108 W. Main St., Lewisville. The shop offers a variety bagel flavors, including wasabi sesame and Palestinian Zaatar, coffee using housemade syrups such as vanilla bean and pumpkin spice and schmears with flavors such as fermented jalapeno and blueberry lavender.

Owner Oren Salomon said the dough is made from scratch, and the bagels are boiled and baked fresh each morning.

“What makes us special is that we put in the hard work to make [bagels] the old-fashioned way,” Salomon said.

The shop is open four days a week, Wednesdays and Fridays through Sundays. Salomon said next month the shop will expand to five days a week and will be open on Thursdays as well. The shop originally opened in June with one day of operation but has been expanding since. Orders can be made in store or online. 214-799-0021. www.starshipbagel.com
