The Lewisville Independent School District board of trustees voted unanimously during its Sept. 13 meeting to contract with Stepping Stones Contracted Services for the 2021-22 school year to address an existing staffing shortage.

The contract permits Stepping Stones, a staffing services organization, to provide four teachers and 10 paraprofessionals to fill high-need vacancies within the district. According to meeting notes, the cost for a teacher will be $480 per day while paraprofessionals will cost the district $225 each per day.

Stepping Stones already had an existing relationship with the district as an approved vendor.
