Local entities are closing their doors as winter weather makes its way through the North Texas region.

Lewisville ISD

All Lewisville ISD campuses and facilities will be closed Feb. 24 due to winter weather in the area, according to a district news release.

Buses are scheduled to run their normal times and routes on Feb. 23, according to the release. After-school activities on Feb. 23 are canceled.

Classes and activities for Feb. 25 are under review.


City of Lewisville

Lewisville municipal buildings will be closed Feb. 24, according to a city news release.

The closure includes all administration buildings along with the Thrive recreation center, the Lewisville Public Library and the Lewisville Grand Theater. In addition, outdoor activities in city parks are canceled through Feb. 24, according to the release. Library materials due for return Feb. 23 through Friday, Feb. 25 will be extended until Feb. 26.

Residential trash and recycling will not be collected on Feb. 24. Those canceled routes will be collected on Feb. 25. Routes for Feb. 25 will be shifted to Feb. 26.


Road conditions are expected to remain treacherous now through Feb. 25. City officials urge residents to remain home and drive with caution if they must drive, according to the release.

Town of Flower Mound


Flower Mound offices and facilities will have a delayed opening at 10 a.m. Feb. 24, according to a town news release.

Police, fire, emergency services and essential employees will remain in operation at all times.

Republic Services suspended trash, recycling and bulk collections on Feb. 24, according to the release. Those customers will be serviced on Feb. 25. The customers who are supposed to be serviced on Feb. 25 will be serviced on Feb. 26. This is subject to change based on weather.

City of Highland Village


Highland Village city offices will open at 10 a.m. Feb. 24.

Additionally, trash and recycling will not be picked up Feb. 24, according to a city news release.
