Flower Mound Town Council extends deadline for 5-story hotel at Lakeside Crossing

The deadline for Lakeside Crossing Land Partners to complete the construction of a five-story hotel in the Lakeside Crossing development has been extended by 7.5 months.

Flower Mound Town Council voted to extend the deadline for the hotel at the Dec. 17 council meeting.

The original Chapter 380 agreement between the town and the developer gave a deadline of June 3, 2020, for the hotel to be complete. The deadline was extended to Feb. 15, 2021.

Town staff said the extension is needed to allow the developer to complete negotiations with a new hotel brand and finalize the hotel construction plans.

When the Chapter 380 agreement was approved in July 2017 the developers had plans to build an Unscripted Hotel on the 12-acre site, which is located on the west side of Long Prairie Road and south of the Long Prairie/Lakeside Parkway intersection.

The hotel will now be branded Hotel RL, operated by RLH Corp. Hotel RL is located in eight cities in the U.S., with another nine coming soon.

It will be a five-story, full-service, approximately 60,000-square-foot hotel with 125-140 rooms and suites; and a restaurant.
