The city of Lewisville is looking for artists to create a photography-based public art piece, according to a city news release.

The piece will be a visual representation of Lewisville and answer the question, “Who are we as a community?” The working project title is “We Are Lewisville,” according to the release.

The winning work should be displayed on a portable panel with multiple units, which will be displayed on a rotating basis in various indoor locations, according to the release.

Artists located in North Texas can apply as a single artist or a collaboration. The budget for the commission is up to $8,000, which includes all costs associated with the pockets, according to the release.

The entry deadline is 11:50 p.m. on Jan. 30. Applications can be submitted online or emailed to Arts Center Manager Denise Helbing at [email protected].


The debut exhibition will be at the Lewisville Grand Theater Art Gallery with exhibition dates oSept. 23-Oct. 22, according to the release.
