Drivers should anticipate traffic changes as the Valley Parkway and Civic Circle reconstruction project continues in Lewisville.

The details

Construction began Feb. 12. The project’s scope includes reconstructing Civic Circle from Main Street to Valley Parkway and Valley Parkway from Main Street to College Parkway. Construction crews will also:
  • Reconstruct portions of the existing sidewalks
  • Reconstruct barrier-free ramps
  • Install roughly 3,400 linear feet of new 8-inch water lines
  • Install a new sanitary sewer line across Civic Circle
  • Create an overlook at the drainage channel on Valley Parkway
  • Increase parkway buffer adjacent to trail and sidewalk on Valley Parkway
  • Install pedestrian lighting on both streets
Both Valley Parkway and Civic Circle have had numerous repairs and are nearing the end of their useful lives, according to project details. The $9 million project is funded through the 2015 bond program and American Rescue Plan Act funds.

What you need to know

Valley Parkway will maintain two-way traffic, and Civic Circle will temporarily be one way northbound from Main Street. Residents with property near the project will have reduced access to their driveways at times and will be notified by the contractor prior, according to project details.

The 18-month project is expected to be completed by August 2025.
