Further construction on Silver Line track segments is set to take place later in January in Coppell.

A three-day closure is planned along South Royal Lane, near the Park ‘N Fly, to allow construction crews to work on the rail crossing along the road between Jan. 12-15, according to a news release.

The overview

During the closure, no traffic will be able to get by the work site, so drivers are encouraged to seek an alternate route to their destination. Crews are expected to perform roadway and rail construction, excavation at the crossing, and concrete pouring, according to project information released by the contractor, Archer Western Herzog.

The project notification also indicates there are further closures of travel lanes planned in the future, although no dates have been determined for other northbound and southbound lane closings.

Dallas Area Rapid Transit’s Silver Line is an over $2 billion commuter rail project that will run from Plano to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. Rail service is expected to begin around late 2025 or in 2026.
