Individuals are encouraged to take an alternative route Sept. 15-18 because of a planned road closure.

Construction on a railroad crossing for Dallas Area Rapid Transit’s Silver Line will affect MacArthur Boulevard beginning at 6 a.m. Sept. 15 until 3 p.m. Sept. 18, according to a city news release.

Two-minute impact

Both northbound and southbound traffic will be detoured around the planned construction area with drivers encouraged to use Mockingbird Lane, Riverchase Drive and Fairway Drive. During the closure, increased traffic is expected, per the news release.

DART crews will be working on the railroad throughout the four-day period.

According to the news release, construction activity is planned during the following windows:
  • Sept. 15 between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m.
  • Sept. 16-17 between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. both days
  • Sept. 18 between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m.
