Medical City Lewisville announced a new CEO and chief financial officer Oct. 14.

Whitney Bendel and John Walker were named chief financial officer and CEO, respectively. Bendel and Walker started their new positions Oct. 17.

Bendel served as vice president of finance at Medical City Dallas prior to joining the Lewisville hospital. She has worked in the health care industry since 2008 and also held leadership roles at Medical City Plano and Medical City Frisco.

“Whitney is a respected leader with strong financial acumen,” said Allen Marsh, Medical City Lewisville’s chief operating officer, in a press release. “I am confident that Whitney’s addition to our executive leadership team will help advance our vision as the destination of choice for healthcare excellence in Lewisville and surrounding communities.”

Walker served as chief operating officer at Medical City Denton prior to his current role. During his five-year tenure, the Level II Trauma Center earned recognition for patient care and quality, including a Leapfrog Group “A” safety rating. He began his career with Medical City Healthcare in 2011 and has held roles at the McKinney and Dallas locations.


“John has a proven record of health care leadership and knowledge of our North Texas landscape with a dedication to providing superior and compassionate patient-centered care for our community,” Medical City Healthcare President Erol Akdamar said. “I am confident that he will lead Medical City Lewisville to the next level of healthcare excellence.”
