Repairs for a city recreation facility’s parking lot is planned after Coppell City Council authorized the allocation of funds for the project.

The approval of funding was made during the Sept. 26 meeting and earmarked $207,243 for the project. C&J Designs submitted the winning bid to complete the construction on The CORE’s eastern parking lot, which has numerous damaged areas along the front row of the lot from the main entrance, according to city documents.

Information included in the documents indicates that the repairs will help improve safety for users of the lot at the recreation facility, improve aesthetics for the nearby park and prevent the spread of further damage. Earlier this month, council also authorized the replacement of a waterslide tower at The CORE.
