An interlocal agreement was approved for a development that would straddle the North Texas cities of Coppell and Lewisville.

The agreement was approved during Coppell City Council’s Aug. 8 meeting and will outline the responsibilities both cities have in regard to utilities, emergency services, and platting and permitting. The agreement resembles that of the Feather Smash development, according to city documents.

In a nutshell

The location of the proposed development is zoned for light industrial within Coppell and designates the rezoning of the Lewisville portion from agricultural to light industrial. City documents show plans for an office warehouse structure with an area of 82,350 square feet.

The preliminary concept plan included in the July 25 meeting packet indicates most of the property is located within Lewisville with a detention basin, drive aisle and truck stalls located within the city of Coppell. Staff have advocated for another access-way to be constructed from Vista Ridge Mall Drive to the frontage road of SH 121.

What’s next?

With the interlocal agreement approved by Coppell, Lewisville’s City Council will also need to approve its own interlocal agreement for the warehouse development.
