Lewisville City Council approved the city’s 2023 legislative agenda priorities Dec. 19. The Legislature is set to convene Jan. 10, and the deadline to file bills is March 10.
City staff plans to submit and seek the passage of a bill that would grant cities the authority to regulate the operation of massage parlors that have a history of criminal violations, according to the agenda item.
Other priority items include the sourcing of sales tax and sales tax agreements relief, state funding for school safety measures and providing reasonable property tax relief.
Letters, testimony and formal comments submitted by city officials will be posted on the city’s website throughout the legislative session.
The last day of the regular session is May 29. The veto deadline is June 18.
