Cassandra Hernandez defeated two opponents to win the Democratic primary race for State Representative District 115, according to unofficial results from Dallas County.

Hernandez received 4,598 votes, about 58.41% of the total. Kate Rumsey followed with 2,404 votes, about 30.54% of the total. Scarlett Cornwallis received 870 votes, about 11.05% of the total.

Hernandez will face Republican candidate John Jun in the general election this November.

Cassandra Hernandez continues to lead the Democratic primary race for State Representative District 115.

Hernandez has received 2,594 votes so far, about 57.44% of the total. Kate Rumsey follows with 1,434 votes, about 31.75% of the total. Scarlett Cornwallis has received 472 votes, about 10.81% of the total.

The specifics

Hernandez has 2,505 votes. Kate Rumsey follows with 1,401 votes and Scarlett Cornwallis has 472 votes.

Julie Johnson, a Democrat, is the incumbent but is running for U.S. House District 32. She was first elected in 2018 and is serving her third term.
