With all precincts reporting, Michelle Beckley won the Democratic race for State Representative District 63 in the March 5 primary election while incumbent Ben Bumgarner won the Republican primary.
What happened
Beckley had 66.43%, or 3,974 votes, of the ballots cast in the Democratic election, and challenger Denise Wooten received 33.57%, or 2,008 of the votes cast.
Bumgarner won the Republican primary with 9,741 votes, or 59.23%. Trailing him were Vincent Gallo and Carlos E. Andino Jr. with 5,812 votes and 893 votes, respectively. Beckley and Bumgarner will run against each other in November for the District 63 seat.

Beckley has 67.1%, or 3,070 votes cast in the Democratic election, and challenger Denise Wooten received 32.9%, or 1,505 of votes cast.
Bumgarner leads in the Republican primary with 7,149 votes, or 60.4%. Trailing him are Vincent Gallo and Carlos E. Andino Jr., with 4,097 votes and 591 votes, respectively.
The winner of the Democratic and Republican primaries will run against each other in November.

With early voting results in for the March 5 primary elections, Ben Bumgarner has taken the lead for the Republican nomination for State Representative District 63, and Michelle Beckley leads for the Democratic nomination. The two winners of the primary election will run against each other in November.

According to unofficial early voting results, Bumgarner leads with 5,977 votes for the Republican election, or 60.71%. Trailing Bumgarner is Gallo, who has 3,412 votes, or 34.66%. Behind him is Andino Jr., who has 456 votes, or 4.63%.
In the Democratic primary election, Beckley has 2,479 votes, or 67.4%. Her opponent Wooten has 1,199 votes, or 32.6%.

Totals from ballots cast March 5 have yet to be released. Polls closed at 7 p.m., although voters who were in line at 7 p.m. were still able to cast ballots.
