Lewisville ISD board of trustees approved plans to move forward with the sale of about 24 acres of district-owned land at the Sept. 9 meeting.

A resolution passed in February declared the land was not necessary for district operations and considered surplus. The sale will help generate additional revenue at a time where it is facing a budget shortfall.

The details

The parcel of land is located along Wager Road in Flower Mound and requires minimal resources to maintain and secure, according to district documents.

The district received the deed to the land in 2002. A 2024 appraisal listed the property’s market value at almost $1.2 million, according to data from the Denton Central Appraisal District. The district has received multiple sealed bids for the property, according to district documents.
