Chris Trotter has been named chief operations officer for Coppell ISD, per a memo released by the school district.

Trotter officially joined CISD on July 5, replacing Dr. Dennis Womack. Womack left CISD to take a similar position in McKinney ISD.

“I am excited to have Chris Trotter join our team,” CISD Superintendent Brad Hunt said. “His extensive background in public education and experience with school district operations will serve the district well. Mr. Trotter brings a high level of expertise and will do great things for Coppell ISD.”

Trotter has 31 years of experience in public education, according to the release. His first teaching job in Birdville ISD as a math instructor and athletics coach. He also taught and was an administrator at R.L. Turner High School and Creekview High School in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, L.D. Bell High School in Hurst-Euless Bedford ISD, Denison High School in Denison ISD and Smithson Valley High School in San Antonio ISD. He was also the chief administrative officer in Tomball ISD and served as superintendent in Cleveland ISD.

Trotter earned his undergraduate degree and math teacher certification at Texas A&M University and his master’s degree in educational administration from the University of North Texas.
