Hemingway Brunch owner Rima Sejdini decided to open her second brunch spot in Coppell after seeing the success of her Colleyville restaurant.

Sejdini’s first restaurant, Townhouse Brunch, opened in Colleyville in 2018. While exploring options for her next restaurant, she said she was drawn to Coppell and felt it was the perfect fit.

“[Coppell] just felt right,” she said. “I love the city, ... community, everything about it.”

Hemingway Brunch opened in January 2022 at the intersection of Sandy Lake Road and Denton Tap Road. The restaurant serves breakfast staples, such as omelets, Benedicts, crepes, mimosas and pancakes.

The food and atmosphere are what make Hemingway Brunch special, Sejdini said. She designed both of her restaurants and wanted an elegant feel.

“I definitely like it to be classy,” she said.

Hemingway Brunch’s best seller is the bourbon flambe, which is French toast topped with bourbon-glazed peaches, blueberries and whipped cream, and dusted with powdered sugar. Patrons can pair their meal with a variety of coffees and juices, or order a mimosa, which is prepared with fresh-squeezed orange juice.

Brunch is the Sejdini family’s speciality, she said. Sejdini, a Michigan native, said she followed her brother to the Dallas-Fort Worth area six years ago and helped him open his own restaurant in Frisco.

“We grew up in the business. My father started with restaurants, and we kind of just took over and carried on,” she said.

Sejdini said one of the benefits of operating a brunch restaurant is it allows her to balance work with being a single parent.

Sejdini said she wants it to be a place where people can enjoy breakfast or lunch.

“We just want every customer to feel appreciated and to give them the best service that I possibly can,” she said.
