Sfereco in Old Town Lewisville is slated to close, and another restaurant is anticipated to take its place.

Lewisville City Council approved the termination of an economic development agreement with Sfereco. The restaurant's closing date has not yet been made available.

The Italian-style restaurant opened in Old Town Lewisville in 2021 and has been operating with reduced hours. The developer plans to sell the property, located at 233 W. Church St., to a third-party professional restaurateur to open a new restaurant, according to the Nov. 7 agenda item. Italian cuisine restaurant Eddie’s Napolis is anticipated to replace Sfereco.

The space, which was occupied by Cavalli Pizza prior to Sfereco, was upgraded for family entertainment use. The economic development agreement for Sfereco provided for an annual tax grant for the local sales tax and city mixed-beverage tax receipts as well as a startup grant for the improvements to the outdoor space.

One of the goals for Old Town is to bring more restaurant options to the area. Termination of the agreement to allow for the opening of a new restaurant aligns with the Old Town Master Plan.
