In a nutshell
Lewisville City Council approved a $519,500 design contract with Halff Associates for renovating the athletic complex and removing existing improvements at the amphitheater in Lewisville. The renovation project is estimated to cost $24.5 million overall and aims to refresh two facilities more than 30 years old, according to a staff memo.
Design and construction on the project will be paid for with bonds approved by voters in May 2024. Under the agreement, Halff Associates will design and bid construction for leveling the amphitheater and design improvement schematics for the athletic complex.
City officials estimate the designs will be complete in eight months, according to the staff memo.
The details
The design will be completed in three phases.
- Phase 1: project management and pre-design
- Phase 2: Vista Ridge Athletic Complex
- Phase 3: Vista Ridge Amphitheater
Lewisville Park Alliance will use the schematic design for fundraising efforts for building the playground. City officials will also use the schematic design to determine if construction is needed in phases.
For Vista Ridge Amphitheater, Halff Associates will design and bid construction, according to the staff memo. Officials plan to remove existing improvements on the amphitheater site to make room for future development.
About the project
Halff Associates is expected to build on a concept plan it delivered to the city in December 2020. That plan was approved by council and the project was included in Proposition C of the 2024 bond package.

- Field for open play
- A new pond and boardwalk
- Walking trails
- Nature area
- Vista Ridge Amphitheater
- Performance stage and lawn
- Concession/restroom building
