Coppell residents will see a slight increase in their monthly trash and recycling bills, as a 3% increase to the fees took effect on Jan. 1.

Residential customers will see their monthly bills go from $18.22 to $18.77 per month, plus $1.55 in sales tax and a $0.10 public education fee, according to a Dec. 29 announcement.

Utility account holders with the senior discount will see their rates increase from $16.40 to $16.89 per month, plus $1.39 in sales tax and a $0.10 public education fee.

The rate increase is in accordance with the city’s contract with Republic Services. The 3% increase also applies to commercial utility accounts.

Trash is collected twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays. Recycling is collected once a week on Wednesdays.
