The cities of Lewisville and Coppell will offer Christmas tree recycling during the holiday season.

Live Christmas trees can be dropped off at Lewisville Lake Park soccer field until Jan. 13. The trees will be recycled into mulch which will help reduce waste, extend landfill life, provide useful compost, and save money, according to a press release. The field is located near Lake Park Road and North Mill Street in Lewisville.

The Christmas trees must be stripped of all nails, wire, ornaments, lights and tinsel prior to being dropped off. Free mulch will be available at the drop-off site between Dec. 26 and Jan. 31.

Coppell residents can place unflocked Christmas trees in their yards for pickup. Decorations must be removed from the tree. Recycling and yard trimming collection is on Wednesdays and items must be placed in lawn and leaf bags or an open trash can. The city’s trash and recycling schedule will not be affected during the holidays.
