After filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September, national discount retailer Big Lots has announced the closing of more than 55 additional stores across the country, including one in Lewisville.

According to an Oct. 11 court filing, Big Lots plans to close its Orchard Village shopping mall location. A definite closing date was not available, but other locations marked for closing in the Dallas-Fort Worth area will close by the end of the year, a company representative previously told Community Impact.

The move comes after Big Lots originally announced that 315 stores would close in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in early August. Since then, the Ohio-based company has been announcing more store closures every month.

Big Lots offers furniture, mattresses, home decor and groceries. Its other locations are still operational
