From new jewelry stores to immersive media venue openings, here are five business updates from August and September in Lewisville, Coppell and The Colony. This list is not comprehensive.

Skyone Federal Credit Union


The company specializes in banking and credit services for businesses and individuals. It also offers a variety of loan services, retirement accounts, wealth management services and more. The company has been in business for 75 years and has accrued over 60,000 members, with assets totaling over $1 billion.

Expanding to Lewisville is a natural progression and the community aligns with the company’s values and plans for growth, according to its website.Solomon & Co.




Jewelry store Solomon & Co. held a grand opening ceremony for its new Lewisville location at The Realm Castle Hills.

The jeweler sells curated collections of watches, necklaces, bracelets, rings and more that are made with diamond-laced precious metals. The company also offers custom pieces that “create a bold and personal statement,” according to its website.

The grand opening event featured celebrity guest appearances by NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal and local hip-hop artist BigXThaPlug. The Lewisville location is the newest of three jewelry stores for Solomon & Co., which also has locations Dallas and another in Wichita, Kansas.Whitlow

The apartments held its grand opening Aug. 15, Resident Services Manager Joseph Radway said. However, there is still some construction work left on the second building of the three-building complex, which is set to be completed Sept. 15. With all buildings complete, the complex will operate with a total of 420 units.




The company offers studio, one- and two-bedroom apartment homes, according to its website. Community amenities include a lounge; a saltwater pool with sundeck and private cabana; a resident lounge with bar and entertainment kitchen; a game lounge with billiards and shuffleboard; and a fitness center.

The development is from Toll Brothers Apartment Living and The Davis Companies partnership. The Whitlow was financed with a construction loan from Citizens Bank, commenced construction in 2021 and welcomed its first residents in February 2024, according to an August news release.Bushi Ban DFW

The school teaches a blend of martial arts for children, teens and adults, but specializes in youth classes, co-owner Kailer Mattingly previously told Community Impact. The children’s program combines elements from karate, judo, wrestling and tumbling while teen and adult classes add kung fu, kickboxing, muay thai and jiu-jitsu.

Cosm




Immersive media entertainment company Cosm opened its 65,000 square-foot venue at the Grandscape development in The Colony Aug. 31, according to a news release.

The focal point of the venue is an 87-foot LED dome which allows guests to experience live sports and immersive art. The technology aims to bridge the virtual and physical worlds and offer the feeling of sitting being at events through screen visuals and “the energy of the crowd,” according to the release.

The venue opened with a batch of college football games. Following opening weekend, ticketed events at the venue include U.S. Open tennis, Premier League soccer matches, and additional college football games throughout September.

In addition to live sports, ticketed events at Cosm Dallas also include Cirque du Soleil’s production “O” and immersive art experiences from members of the Cosm Studios Creator Program.




Cosm’s Grandscape venue is the second for the company following its Los Angeles debut in July 2024. Cosm was founded in 2020 and recently raised $250 million for long term growth after securing new investors, according to a news release.
