Japanese automaker Subaru is planning to expand its Coppell facility and establish a new customer service center, according to a news release.

As part of the expansion, the company will open the customer-service focused Dallas Business Center, which is part of the Subaru Customer Advocacy Department.

The overview

The expansion is expected to add 200,000 square feet to the distribution center, which first opened in the city in 2016. The new building addition will include space for its relocated central region office and the second location of the Subaru Customer Advocacy Department, per the news release.

Other work on the Coppell facility includes improved amenities, new training classrooms and expanded collaboration space, said Dominick Infante, director of corporate communication.

“The Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area is home to an increasing amount of talent and has been noted as a high-growth market in the United States,” Infante said in an email. “We’re eager to continue growing our connections in the southern region which is drawing young professionals and developing a strong workforce.”

What’s next?

Infante said construction is expected to wrap up in late 2024 with employees working on-site in early 2025. Around 100 employees will staff the second location of the Subaru Customer Advocacy Department, according to the news release.
