Auto service center Ziebart is celebrating 65 years in business with a ribbon-cutting ceremony April 26, according to the Lewisville Chamber of Commerce.

The company provides interior and exterior detailing, paint correction, window tinting, rust protection and more, according to its website. In 1954, founder Kurt Ziebart began his first attempts at rustproofing body panels of his 1953 Packard. Once his rustproofing sealant was perfected and patented tools were developed, he and partners Rudy Herman, Joe Selagi and George Krausmann set up a new company called Auto Rustproofing Company.

In 1959, they opened their first rustproofing shop in Detroit. Since then, the company has grown into a worldwide network of over 400 franchise locations with 1,300 Ziebart service centers in 37 countries, according to the website.
